Following the ISPS code, four categories of ships should have an up to date plan: Passengers ships, Containers carriers, Hazardous materials carriers and the last category that includes every other ships shipping internationaly and over 500 UMS. And that includes mobile drilling platforms and high speed ships.
This plan is written under the authority of the SSO or/and sometimes the CSO authority. It follows the mandatory Ship Security Assessment conclusions and answer to them following the International Maritime Organization standards and ship security guidelines.
